Vertical Systems Analysis, (VSA) provides a variety of elevator consulting services such as the following:
New Construction
As a building owner, having proper performing elevators and escalators is critical to the successful operations in that building. Sometimes owners also find themselves limited in purchasing competitive maintenance service, due to the nature of proprietary manufacturers’ computerized control systems.
VSA provides evaluations and comparisons of critical equipment manufacturers’ processes. This allows the building owner to make an informed decision about the manufacturer based on their budget and requirements. VSA will provide all the specifications, design and development services that are needed as well as the project management that will help ensure the project runs smoothly from origin to completion.
SURVEY
VSA will come and visit the job site and collect detailed equipment information. We check all the hoistways and machine rooms and measure the equipment performance times. VSA will make note of any and all performance issues.
When VSA delivers the Survey it will provide equipment age, overall condition and any performance issues that are noted. VSA will also provide recommendations and budgets to modernize any deficient equipment.
Design Engineering
VSA is a full service elevator design and engineering firm. Most elevator consultants only provide their services to building owners and architects, but VSA also works with elevator companies. That means that we are often involved in new construction projects, but the larger share of our business is modernization and alteration of existing elevator systems.
For any structural changes we provide elevator submittal shop drawing preparation. This service is well suited for more complex alterations. The drawings and engineering produced are submitted to consultants and jurisdictions and are essential for ordering and fabricating equipment. These drawings and approvals are also required for proper field installation.
FEASIBILITY STUDIES
Building layouts and drawings are reviewed in determining the optimal elevator application, elevator machine room, elevator pit alteration and/or any other significant details. VSA will first conduct a site visit and make a visual determination of the feasibility of the elevator installation based on the prevailing conditions.
In visiting the job site we observe the traffic flow of the existing elevators or escalators and perform a thorough valuation of the equipment in its current condition. We also observe the quality of the maintenance currently being performed. We also look at the age, housekeeping, cleanliness and overall performance of the equipment against industry standards.
